Oriental Despotism

If you think about it, there is nothing more Eastern than Henrik Mkhitaryan's goal in a Shakhtar Donetsk shirt; A bride at a Georgian wedding, emptying the muzzle of a gun in the air; Or Sophie Bedia - the original Kim Kardashian. I did this project many years ago for a university where I was studying digital culture and researching self-made aesthetics of the post-Soviet space on the Internet. I collected photos for several months from the news, Facebook, Tumblr and all the digital communities where people from the East posted. All photos are stolen, of course.
